If you already have a domain name, a site and tracking set up, you’re good. Skip this and keep going. If not, here’s some tools and tutorials on how to get everything set up.
Starting a Website
Choosing the right set up can feel daunting but it doesn’t have to be. There are a ton of different site builders, tools and recommendations that span from simple to the insane. These recommendations are the tools we use and like because they’re fast and effective. Also, if anyone says you can’t do this, tell them to talk to us directly. ????
First Register a Domain Name
We recommend Name Cheap to register your new domain. They’re cheap, but professional and offer forever free identity protection!
Next, are you selling a product or a service? If you want simple and you’re selling a physical product that you’re going to be managing the inventory, taxes and more, use Shopify. For everything else, we recommend WordPress.
WordPress Sites
WordPress sites are typically hosted by hosting providers, or if you’re technical you can host your own. WordPress is very customizable and flexible to serve almost any need.
We use and ALWAYS recommend WPX to host your site. They’re super easy to get started with and have some of the best support I’ve seen. The have free daily backups so you can always get them to go back if you break anything!
If you’re looking to make building the site easy, we strongly recommend Bricks Builder. It’s easy to use and based on a lot of testing, it’s faster and more flexible than most of the other visual site builders out there.
Shopify
If you’re building a online store (e-commerce) you can get started with shopify and leverage the google suite to do the testing. Shopify also sells some AB testing Apps but we haven’t tested them and you probably don’t need them.

Analytics and Behaviour tracking
Funny how being able to track data is kind of important if you’re going to use data to make better decisions. If you need help with any of these we walk through setting them up for Shopify and WordPress + BricksBuilder. Jump to that Tutorial here. If you already know how, here’s the tools we recommend:
Google Analytics
You can’t make good decisions with out data to support it. See where people are coming from and what they’re doing on your site with Google Analytics.
Need some help getting Analytics, Tag manager and Optimize set up? We have a course for that!
Microsoft Clarity
Clarity allows you to see through it’s heatmaps where people are clicking and how much of each page users view. You can also watch real users navigate your site! Get a free account here.
Google Tag Manager (optional, but more advanced tracking)
Create custom events so you can track any action and optimize for that behaviour with Google Tag Manager
